Bitcoin yearly returns since 2010
Bitcoin yearly returns since 2010. Since bitcoin’s inception in 2010, the asset has seen significant yearly returns. In bitcoin’s first year of existence, it saw a 9,900% return on investment and continued to post impressive results over subsequent years. But there have also been very negative years with the first in 2014 closing at a 58% drop.

During difficult times, like the correction we are experiencing in 2022 it is important to take a step back and look at the bigger picture which is encapsulated in the above table. Another way of looking at it, is looking at the average returns Bitcoin has brought over the years since its launch.
If we exclude the 9,900% return of 2010 (to be a bit more conservative) and calculate the compounded return from the start of 2011 to the end of 2021, Bitcoin has returned 197% yearly. Not many assets have had such a performance for a decade.
The above table also reflects the fact that yearly returns in the positive years diminish on average over time as the asset matures and adoption grows. However, there is still a lot of potential for growth, as Bitcoin is one of the hardest assets currently available. Not sure what that means? check our article on hard money.
